Girlfriend Getaways

"The older I get the more I realize how important my girlfriends are"...

The first general rule for friendship is to be a friend, to be open, natural, interested; the second rule is to take time for friendship.

A game of chess in front of the fireplace, sharing recipes, helping to pick out fabric samples~~~just being together!!

A brisk but beautiful November autumn morning. Lets have our coffee on the covered porch before breakfast is served. We still haven't caught up on all the stories!

"Because we don't want to get out of our pajama's for one whole day! And we may even do the unheard of ...nap in the afternoon...just because we can! After breakfast, I am going to read and do some scrapbooking. OK, then I might go for a walk down by the river--can I leave my robe on?"

It's all about the robes!! Lets all get comfy in the Orchard Room--the popcorn is being popped and the chick-flick is ready on the big screen TV--laughter and tears--it better be a good movie!

A good cup of coffee and good conversation, shopping, reading, a movie, a nap, chocolate, talking, listening, girl stuff...

"A true friend gives freely, advises justly, assists readily, adventures boldly, takes all patiently, defends courageoulsy, and continues a friend unchangeably" ~~William Penn

"A friend is one who comes in when the whole world has gone out".
To laugh, to share, for advice, for support, to counsel, for assistance, for fun, to be silly, to teach, to play, bike, hike, ski, to talk, and talk and talk... Here is to our girlfriends!
Temporary or real tatooes?! Only the Innkeeper knows for sure?!

A fun Waupaca shopping day! "How are we going to fit all the treasures in the car?"

"It is my joy in life to find, at every turning of the road, the strong arm of a comrade kind, to help me onward with my load. And since I have no gold to give, and love alone must make amends, my only prayer is, while I live--God make me worthy of my friends." ~~Frank Demster Sherman

Murder Mystery Event~~Murder at the Marde Gras

I remember the first time we were invited to a Murder Mystery. I had no idea what it was, I just knew it sounded a bit odd and I was hesitant! I was both intrigued and skeptical,so I did seek out answers to my questions and got the whole scoop. It really sounded like a lot of fun, and we love to try new things. Well, after our first experience at a Murder Mystery game, "Who Killed Santa Clause" we were hooked!

What a fun and unique way to spend an evening. You receive an invitation ahead of time, giving you general information on the game, costume ideas (costumes are 1/2 the fun--although you can do as much or as little as you want!), character information, general story line and specifics of the evening. Good food and beverages are also a part of the event! No acting is required!

We have now had several Murder Mystery Events at the B&B, with good times had by all. The most recent was, "When the Bead Drops ~ Murder at the Marde Gras". The costumes were wonderful, food delicious, company delightful, and the game-- an absolute killer!?

If you have not participated in a Murder Mystery before, or even if you are a veteran, come to the Apple Tree Lane Bed & Breakfast for a fun-filled weekend of intrigue!
