The Waupaca Area Triathlon, http://www.waupacaareatriathlon.com/ takes place this year on August 20th at 7am. Registration has now begun and the race is capped at 900 ~ 300 for the short race and 600 for the long. It caps early so plan ahead. Early bird pricing ends on 7/31/11.

The event is fun and well-organized. I had the opportunity to compete with friends & family a couple of years ago and loved it. No, I, #242, didn't finish in the top!?

Plan to stay the weekend, however, as you can also enjoy Waupaca's wonderful event, "Art on the Square", www.waupacaareachamber.com/event/arts-on-the-square, in downtown Waupaca on Saturday, after the race. 40 juried artists, music, theatrical performances, expanded farmers market, art workshops, street dance, and more awaits you.
After you register on Friday and participate in the potato bake, go take in some sights, hear the outdoor bands and get back to the Apple Tree Lane Bed & Breakfast, http://www.appletreelanebb.com/, for a good nights rest!
We cater to the Triathletes---high carb early morning breakfast followed by full breakfast upon return, outdoor buildings to store your bike, close to South Park for a quick and easy less than 2mi ride to the start, and great accommodations.
