Welcome to Apple Tree Lane, a Waupaca,Wisconsin Bed and Breakfast. Located in an historic Victorian farmhouse, complete with gingerbread trim, the Inn sits on 7.5 acres in a park-like setting along 400 feet of beautiful Crystal River frontage.

We hope you visit our blog often!  We will share information and pictures with you on special happenings at the Inn and in the Waupaca area, recipes, events, seasonal fun, updates and much more.

Iola Old Car Show, Iola, Wisconsin

One of the largest old car shows takes place right in our backyard, July 7-10, 2011, in Iola, WI. Bring your comfortable walking shoes, as you will view miles of old cars, ask questions and share stories with proud owners, head to the swap meet, shop (cars, antique toys, parts and more) or enjoy the food and beverage area!

My favorite is looking for the cars from the year I was born (not telling?!) and remembering the cars I grew up with in my family. Additionally, the year the movie, "Public Enemies" was released, many of the cars used in the movie were on display. It was fun having just seen the movie, and then talking to the owners and having them show us pictures from their albums and tell some great stories.

Our friend picked up an old coin parking meter last year and a previous guest bought his teenage son his first old car (Dodge, I think?) to fix up. They had it towed to Indiana--I understand it was quite a find!

When you are done walking the show, come enjoy comfortable accommodations at the Apple Tree Lane Bed & Breakfast. Yes, plenty of parking and a hose and bucket to wash your old car!

The Waupaca Area Triathlon

The Waupaca Area Triathlon, takes place this year on August 20th at 7am. Registration has now begun and the race is capped at 900 ~ 300 for the short race and 600 for the long. It caps early so plan ahead. Early bird pricing ends on 7/31/11.

The event is fun and well-organized. I had the opportunity to compete with friends & family a couple of years ago and loved it. No, I, #242, didn't finish in the top!?

Plan to stay the weekend, however, as you can also enjoy Waupaca's wonderful event, "Art on the Square",, in downtown Waupaca on Saturday, after the race. 40 juried artists, music, theatrical performances, expanded farmers market, art workshops, street dance, and more awaits you.

After you register on Friday and participate in the potato bake, go take in some sights, hear the outdoor bands and get back to the Apple Tree Lane Bed & Breakfast,, for a good nights rest!

We cater to the Triathletes---high carb early morning breakfast followed by full breakfast upon return, outdoor buildings to store your bike, close to South Park for a quick and easy less than 2mi ride to the start, and great accommodations.
